I would like to see an independent body that has the authority to impose huge penalties against newspapers who allege, quote or directly make false claims. I also think that speculation and sensationalism should be severely curtailed. Media groups should attempt to get back some of the integrity of past years when the honest truth was paramount.

Media groups are focused only on sales and viewing figures. Once you have read the lie or viewed it online you have served their purpose. Our whole society is built around low standards of behaviour and no government feels capable of changing that.

We might ask ourselves why? I think it is because the press can put a party in power and remove it from power without ever speaking or printing one word of truth.
