Models For Heroes Project

Models for Heroes donate model kits and model making materials to treatment centers in the UK

Models for Heroes donate model kits and model making materials to treatment centers in the UK. Model making is used as occupational therapy and a therapeutic activity that compliments clinical treatment for PTSD, brain and spinal injuries.

Models for Heroes currently supports Help For Heroes, Combat Stress, Scotty's Little Soldiers and several other charities and organisations. We're also supporting other non-military mental health charities. The founder Malcolm Childs along with some precious enthusiastic volunteers, teaches basic model making at the Tedworth and Chavasse House Recovery Centres. Donations we receive will go partly to providing the best materials required for this course and partly to sending kits and materials out to centres that run their own modelling sessions.

Malcolm said" We are lucky enough in this group to have a large number of great people from all walks of life various ages and from all corners of the globe. As a community of like minded modellers. I'm sure we all know the benefits of what modeling can bring to our lives and how we all use this great hobby to either escape the stress of everyday life or for what ever reason we do it."

Models for Heroes are currently raising funds to improve the services they provide, please visit their Just giving page here:
